March 6 County wide disruption

Today KPUD’s network was majorly impacted. Another major service provider had two large network ports at opposite ends of the county that suddenly acted like a short circuit. The KPUD network attempted to protect itself, but traffic was blocked for everyone, not just the offending customer.

The upcoming March 24th service event might help this situation, but the primary cleanup will be KPUD working with the provider to make sure this event cannot happen again.
