Phone Musing

So you might wonder, gee, can Net253 really process my home phone. I just spent a mind numbing week of “webinars” with the FCC. We were going over reporting guidelines for when you serve enough telecommunications traffic across state lines to no longer be considered de minimis Soon I will have to start collecting/remitting USF directly to the FCC versus burying it in my fee.

For fun, I looked at some statistics. In January 2021, the Net253 phone system processed 17,864 calls for a total of 47,828 minutes. Peak was 956 calls in one day. Giddy with statistical glee, I tallied up all the calls for 2020. We served 154,861 calls, for a total of 348,052 minutes of gabbing. I wonder how much of that was due to Covid?

These numbers do not include our “3CX” based PBX systems that are installed at schools/business/non profits.
